Harry Gold Octet: A Few of My Favorite Things
Guitar slinging vocalist Harry Gold is ending his tenure as a student at the California Jazz Conservatory. Join the festivities as he presents original arrangements and compositions with his new 8-piece band. It is sure to be an evening immersed in the American songbook, with some R&B peppered in, and a sprinkling of original material.
Negative Press Project
A (scalable) seven-piece electro-acoustic jazz/indie-rock–inspired original music collective from Oakland, California, Negative Press Project is co-led by Andrew Lion (California Jazz Conservatory) and Ruthie Dineen (California Jazz Conservatory alumnus). This set will include a different take on the collective by paring down to a Quintet to feature new original material, plus a partial sneak preview of a full program by the group (slated for late summer/early fall) of instrumental arrangements re-imagining tunes from Jeff Buckley’s seminal Alt-Rock Singer-Songwriter 1994 album Grace. negativepressproject.com
The Yacht Club of Paris
Ross Howe closes out the evening with original material and arrangements based on the modern Jazz Manouche repertoire featuring Colin McCuen on Bass and Lu Salcedo on guitar. It’ll be swingin!
