November 20, 2016 at Thee Parkside in San Francisco.
Riot grrrl is an underground feminist hardcore punk movement that originated in the early 1990s in Washington State (particularly Olympia) and the greater Pacific Northwest. We’ve covered some of the bands that define the Riot Grrrl movement before (Bikini Kill, Sleater-Kinney), but with a growing presence of female rockers, it easily became the focus one of our Fall themes. This show will showcase other seminal acts as well, such as Bratmobile, L7, Babes in Toyland, Julie Ruin, and many others!
GOLDEN GATE ROCKERS:
Our younger — and most energetic — of rockers here at the SF Rock Project. This group of young boys have been diligently putting together a list of knockout hits that span most of rock’n’roll history, covering a little bit of everything between surf-rock and arena anthems. Word on the street is we might catch a Newmanian noise jam! To be so lucky!
3 O’CLOCK ROCK:
3 O’Clock Rock is an after school music program for kids and adults and offer classes in analog recording, drums, guitar, bass, keyboards, film production, and private lessons. Three O’Clock Rock is located in downtown Oakland, California and has shared the stage with SFRP projects on a number of occasions. We’re excited to have them with us for an afternoon of Bay Area youth rock!
Performance: 12:00p – 3:00p
Student Load-In: 11:00am
Donations Gladly Accepted!
THIS IS AN ALL-AGES EVENT!
