April 20, 2017 at SJSU Mosaic Cross Cultural Center in San Jose.
The mentally ill are so misunderstood in society today that many jokes make light of real mental illnesses. We act as though we are past asylums but still create horror movies revolving around disabled characters, and make light of triggers and mental illnesses such as anxiety, OCD, ADHD and depression. Furthermore, gender and race deeply impact how mentally ill people are perceived and how those people receive assistance.
This event is free, open to the public, wheelchair accessible and will provide free pizza and salad. For more information and accessibility needs, please contact MOSAIC at (408) 924-6255.
