April 29, 2016 at Louis B.Mayer Theatre in Santa Clara.
Isang Bagsak means: “One rise, one fall.” Isang Bagsak also alludes to the experience of our graduating senior class and Barkada. Freshman year, after walking into this lounge called Shapell, after being swarmed by HELLOs! and NICE TO MEET YOUs! and MABUHAYs!, after undergoing ice breakers and enthusiastic announcements, we all join together. In a blur of Isang Bagsak means this, ladies do that, while men do this, we all united together. A vocal escape of vulnerability, a nervous-excited bond made with this club, and a clap for unity marked the beginning of our Barkada experience—and with this PCN, it marks an end.
Isang Bagsak connects us to our Filipino history, our larger Filipino community, our Barkada alum, our graduating class, our future members. Our cast understands that it is easier to say this phrase than do or embody it, so it has been our feat in this PCN journey to prove this to you all through our performance this year.
